Fan the Flame: Igniting the Fire

Every one of us, at some point in the journey of faith, feels the fire grow dim. Life presses in. Disappointments stack up. The fire that once burned bright can feel like it's fading under the weight. But you were not created for a smoldering faith. You were created to burn.

We aren't just to remember where the fire once was — we're to stir it back to life.

It All Starts with Identity

Before we talk about calling, we have to start with identity.

You are not tolerated by God.
You are not overlooked or barely scraping by to make it into His Kingdom.
You are deeply loved.
You are a receiver of grace, mercy, and peace — gifts flowing straight from the heart of the Father, secured by Jesus, and sealed by the Spirit.

This isn’t the starting line for "the spiritual elite."
It’s the foundation for every single son and daughter of God.
Your calling doesn’t grow from striving...It grows from being rooted in who you are.

Faith Legacy Isn’t Enough

Maybe you were raised around church.
Maybe you’ve been surrounded by a legacy of faith.

But proximity isn’t possession.

The question is: Is the flame alive inside of you?
Is your faith personal, real, and burning?

For you right now, it's about taking ownership.
It’s not about riding the coattails of yesterday’s fire.
It’s about stewarding the flame God has placed within you.

Fan It Into Flame

Even sincere faith needs stirring.

The gifts, the calling, the Spirit’s empowerment — they were never meant to sit dormant.

A campfire left alone will eventually die out.
It takes intentional tending — bending low, feeding the fire, stirring the coals.

If you’re waiting for someone else to come and stir it for you, you’re going to miss the life God is inviting you into.
Fan the flame.

Fear Is Not Your Inheritance

God did not hand you a spirit of fear.
He gave you a Spirit of power, love, and self-control.

The moment you start recognizing what spirit you're operating under — fear or faith — is the moment you start walking differently.

Fear makes you shrink back.
Power, love, and self-control move you forward with courage, anchored in the Father's love.

You are called to operate from His Spirit — not to be intimidated, not to hide, not to stay silent.

Don’t Be Ashamed to Carry the Flame

You were never called to hide the flame.
You were never called to be ashamed of the gospel or shrink back from suffering.

This flame inside of you — it’s costly, but it’s precious.
It’s worth protecting.
It’s worth carrying, even when it costs you something.

Paul said it like this: "I know whom I have believed." (2 Timothy 1:12)

That’s the kind of anchored confidence that carries you through the firestorms of life.

Saved and Called — As One Act of Grace

You weren’t saved first and called later.

You were saved and called in the same breath — in one single act of grace.

You are not just a forgiven sinner barely scraping by.
You are a beloved son.
A beloved daughter.
Entrusted with the heart of God to carry into a broken world.

Your calling rests not on your merit — but on God's eternal purpose, unveiled through Jesus Christ.

The Gospel Is an Unquenchable Flame

We aren’t carrying some fragile, breakable hope.

We’re carrying resurrection power.

Jesus didn’t just delay death — He abolished it.
He didn’t just promise life someday — He released life into you right now.

We carry something immortal. Eternal. Unstoppable.

And the flame we carry was lit by the King who walked out of the grave.

Guard the Good Deposit

How do we keep this flame burning?

Not by gritting our teeth harder.
Not by human effort.
But by walking daily with the Holy Spirit.

His presence is your source of strength.
His voice is your guide.
His power is your courage.

The Spirit fuels what discipline alone cannot sustain.

A Reality Check on Faithfulness

The road ahead will reveal much.

Some will fall away when the cost gets high.
Some will shrink back when the flame draws the enemy’s attention.

But hear this:
Faithfulness matters more than fame.
Courage matters more than charisma.
Endurance matters more than platforms.

When all is said and done, it’s not the flashiest who will be standing — it’s the faithful.

Today: Stir It Up

What will you do with the flame God has placed within you?

Will you stir it?
Will you guard it?
Will you carry it into a world still desperate for light and life?

Maybe your boldness has been smothered by fear.
Maybe your gifts have gone dormant.
Maybe your spirit feels like nothing but cold embers.

Hear this:
You are not a mistake.
You are not forgotten.
You are not too broken.
You are not too late.

You are a son.
You are a daughter.
You have been entrusted with the fire of resurrection life.

It’s time to stir it up again.

As you finish reading, ask yourself:

Where in my life do I need to fan the flame?
What gifts have I allowed to go dormant?
How can I practically walk closer with the Holy Spirit each day?
Where do I need to trade fear for power, love, and a sound mind?
This isn’t about hype. It’s about holy fire.

Let’s fan into flame the gift of God.
Let’s guard the good deposit entrusted to us.
Let’s carry the Kingdom forward with courage, boldness, and unwavering faithfulness.

Let your life burn bright with the unquenchable fire of God’s love and truth.

The world needs your flame.
